I was never competitive enough to be any kind of manager, but I make sure to do my best to finish things that I can control.

No matter how experienced you are being a project manager, if it's an unmeaningful project or employees with low morale, failure is inescapable. You're not a psychologist or life mentor anyway.

Only high-standard project managers will complain about a chaotic working environment instead of how tough to complete the project. I bet you have an admirable pride in your job.
