In nowadays society, I will not forgive a betrayer. We can be normal friends having meals or playing together, but I won’t open my heart to him/her and I’ll avoid all the possibilities of involving money. Even a son can murder his father to get the insurance, greediness is a core in the heart.

I remembered I had a debating in high school and the topic was- Are people born good? My side was assigned to “people are born good.”

I remembered as my teammate said a Chinese idiom, “Put away the knife, and the butcher can become a Buddha immediately.” And the opponent argued back in a second, “If people were born good, then who created that knife?” I forgot what my poor teammate responded because her voice was covered by the applause of the audience.

Until now, I still cannot find a principles or philosophy to say anything back to this question.
