“Why Are You Here, Son? It’s Cold.” “Because I Killed You.”
Slaughter, 2002
At only 18 years old, Lin had already changed schools four times. His parents spoiled him, giving him thousands of dollars per month, a motorcycle, and other luxuries.
That night, Lin gathered other four friends at home and prepared to play for a few days outside the city, but his parents came home in advance. His father criticized the laziness and irresponsibility of Lin who only indulged in pleasure in front of his friends.
After his parents went back to their bedroom, Lin rushed to the basement and grabbed two knives. He walked into the bedroom before one of his friends, Ze could stop him.
As his father was aware of the commotion and raised one hand to defend himself, Lin slayed off his four fingers and continued to stab him to death. Covered by blood, his mother climbed from the bed to the stairs, begging, “Please don’t, son…” But she was still stabbed to death.
In total, Lin stabbed around 109 times on both his parents. To ‘share’ the burden of committing a crime, he forced his friend, Zen, to stab 3 times more on the bodies.
Later, this group of teenagers drove to plan as their original plan.
Arrest the Son
The police thought it was a severe crime of robbery because of the family’s flourishing business, but they noticed there was a watch worth at least a million dollars still on the father’s cut-off wrist, and on that fatal night, the protective family dog didn’t bark one sound.
Therefore, they concluded that the murderer was a family member. They made the media release fake news about the investigation going toward researching trespassing robbery and requiring people to come to make sure and collect the remaining properties.
Lin was fished out immediately, and the police examined the residue on his nails, which was his parents’ blood. Without insisting on playing out with friends as an alibi, Lin confessed that he slaughtered his parents
Sign of Brutality
According to a criminal psychologist who had numerous conversations with Lin, he said his father used to like drinking and beat him for his incompetence in academic work, along with constant condensing.
Lin’s life motto was, ‘I will never hurt anyone unless they hurt me.’ Four delinquents after school once surrounded him, and he warned them, “Think wisely before you want to do anything; otherwise, you cannot afford the consequences.”
In the end, Lin’s nose was broken, but the other four people were so hurt terribly that they were sent to the hospital.
Regret from a Dream
Lin told the mental therapist in prison that he had two dreams about his parents, and the two were fairly similar to each other.
His father was walking behind his mother with an ambiguous face, but his mother’s face was so real and clear, and asked him, “Why are you down here, my son? It’s cold here.” To his mother’s caring words, Lin dreamed that he cried out, “Because it’s me who killed you.”
Humanity?
In front of the media, Lin always stayed silent but once erupted his rage towards the reporters, “What are you guys shooting for? Don’t you have any humanity?”
He questioned people’s humanity while being restrained by two police behind, stepping into the court to accept his crime of slaughtering his parents by hand.
The day before Lin received the execution of the shooting, he signed a contract to donate all his organs, like the cornea, liver, and heart. “This is the only and final thing I can do for this society,” Lin said with a peaceful face to the upcoming death.
